Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Tukios, LLC ("Tukios," "we," "us") provides software and services for funeral homes and the families they serve. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you. This document is a starting template and should be reviewed by counsel before publication.

2. What information we collect

We collect information in three broad categories:

• Funeral home staff accounts. Names, email addresses, phone numbers, role, and authentication credentials for your funeral home staff who use Tukios products.
• Family-provided information. Information funeral home customers collect from grieving families and enter into Tukios (obituary drafts, service details, photo uploads, and guestbook entries). Tukios processes this data on behalf of our funeral home customers.
• Usage and device information. IP address, browser type, pages visited, referring URLs, and aggregated analytics data.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

• Provide and improve the Tukios platform
• Authenticate users and secure accounts
• Generate tribute videos, obituaries, and memorial pages at the direction of our funeral home customers
• Communicate with customers about their account, billing, service updates, and support
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service

4. Family & obituary data

Information about deceased persons, their families, and condolence messages is processed on behalf of our funeral home customers. Tukios acts as a data processor for this content; the funeral home is the data controller. If you have questions about information on a memorial page, please contact the funeral home directly.

5. When we share information

We do not sell personal information. We share information only in these circumstances:

• Service providers. Trusted vendors who help us operate Tukios (hosting, payment processing, analytics, customer support tools). These providers are bound by confidentiality obligations.
• Integrations you enable. If you enable a Partner Store integration, Tukios shares the specific data that integration requires, as disclosed at activation.
• Legal obligations. In response to valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Tukios, our customers, or the public.
• Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, with notice to affected customers.

6. Security

We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest. Access to customer data is restricted to authorized Tukios personnel on a need-to-know basis. We undergo annual SOC 2 Type II audits and maintain a formal incident response process.

7. Facebook

If a funeral home connects Facebook, we receive the connecting person's Facebook name, email, and user ID, plus the Page they select (name and ID) and tokens needed to keep that connection. We use this to publish obituaries to their Page (photo, text, and link).

If they turn on comment import, we may also receive public comments on those posts, including the commenter's name, the message, and comment IDs. We store those as guestbook entries for the funeral home to review and, if approved, display on the obituary.We do not use this information for advertising.

To request deletion, contact the funeral home or support@tukios.com.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information. To exercise these rights:

• Funeral home staff. Contact your Tukios account administrator or email support@tukios.com.
• Family members or guestbook visitors. Contact the funeral home that created the memorial page.

We respond to verified requests within 30 days.

9. Cookies & tracking

We use first-party cookies for authentication, preferences, and analytics. We do not sell browsing data to advertisers. You can manage cookies through your browser settings; some features may not work correctly with cookies disabled.

10. Children's privacy

Tukios is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through our services, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be announced via email to account administrators and posted at the top of this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of Tukios after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

12. Contact us

Mobile opt-in information, including phone numbers and SMS consent, will not be shared with third parties for marketing purposes. We use it only to send the messages you asked for.
